According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, of the three fossil fuels that dominate the U.S. energy market, natural gas is by far the cleanest burning fuel. Did you know that gas supplies one-fourth of the energy needed to efficiently run U.S. homes, businesses, vehicles, industries and power plants? Over the next 20 years, its use is expected to grow by 50 percent.

Compared to electric energy, you'll never match the many comforts of natural and propane gas. Throughout the home, natural gas provides clean energy to heat homes, heat water, pools, spas, patios, dry clothes, cook meals, and light the outdoors. Our gas customers enjoy the many benefits of gas such as year-round temperature-controlled pool or spa heating, precision indoor and outdoor cooking and efficient water and space heating. Please refer to our Fuel Use and Cost Comparison chart that details typical family savings through the use of clean burning, economical gas energy.

Clearwater Gas prides itself in being a competitive and public service - minded utility, making economically and environmentally friendly gas available to customers in our service territory. If natural gas is not yet available in your area, you may want to consider propane gas (LP) as an alternative. We offer several Energy Conservation Allowance programs to make the conversion to gas effortless while lowering your household energy costs:

  • $75 allowance when installing a natural or propane gas dryer or gas range
  • $500 allowance when switching from electric to gas energy when water heater is purchased and installed by Clearwater Gas
  • $300 allowance when installing a natural or propane gas furnace (whole house heat)
  • $300 allowance for existing customers when replacing a natural or propane gas water heater purchased from Clearwater Gas
  • Up to a $1,000 allowance when customers residing along an existing natural gas main convert their electric water heater to natural gas and connect at least one additional appliance to natural gas. Note: Water heater must be purchased and installed by Clearwater Gas.
  • Visit www.energyincentives.org to learn more about the federal tax credits available to homeowners purchasing energy-efficient gas water heaters.

Qualifications for allowances: All energy conservation allowances must receive prior approval from the Clearwater Gas Sales Department; allowances are subject to change and/or terminate without notice.
