We have enacted our storm recovery teams and are here to help however we can. Please know that recovery operations will take some time, and we ask for your patience while we assess the damage as a part of our gas system storm recovery efforts.

Due to the recent storm devastation, CGS has captured a few of the most frequently asked questions regarding inoperable gas appliances and/or gas service:

My gas appliances were flooded due to storm surge, are the gas appliances safe to operate?

No, the appliances are not safe to operate. If flooding occurs at a home or business and the gas appliances are under water, customers are advised not to operate their gas appliances until a safety inspection is conducted by CGS gas technicians. Note: in most cases and for safety reasons, the gas appliance will have to be replaced.

Does CGS sell gas appliances and/or offer appliance discounts?

Yes, Clearwater System sells tank/tankless natural gas water heaters and pool heaters at a generous discounted price. Please call us at (727) 562-4980 to speak with a sales representative.

Has Clearwater Gas crews begun damage assessment?

Yes, we have boots on the ground conducting damage assessment by inspecting affected meters and service lines.

I was informed that my home/business is unlivable. How does this affect my gas service?

If your home or business is deemed unlivable, please call us at (727) 562-4900 to inform us, and we will make every effort to cap the gas line while your home/business repairs take place.

I smell the odor of gas (smells like rotten eggs). Who should I call?

If you smell the odor of gas, please call our 24/7 emergency dispatch line to report the smell at (727) 462-6633. For non-emergency questions, please call us at (727) 562-4900.

Will CGS waive turn-on/turn-off fees for homeowners and business owners who were directly affected by the recent storms?

Yes, CGS will waive the turn-on and/or turn-off fee for customers that were directly affected.
